The invention relates to a system and a method for electric vehicle time-sharing leasing APP vehicle returning. The system and the method solve problems in existing technical scheme that vehicle returning of a vehicle leasing system usually uses a book-keeping scheme, in a vehicle returning process, each order of leasing needs manual participation, and a self-service leasing vehicle returning mode cannot be realized. The system comprises a central server, a plurality of subservers, a user handheld terminal, a plurality of vehicle charging piles, and a time-sharing leasing device. The vehicle charging pile comprises a card reading unit, a charging line locking unit, and a charging pile processing unit. The time-sharing leasing device comprises an information processing unit and a positioning unit. The advantages of the system are that the system can perform self-service vehicle returning operation, can query operating states of the charging piles in real time, the system prevents the condition that a user gets to a vehicle returning point but has no charging pile to use, and provides convenience for users.
