Field studies of the temperature regime and stress state of the concrete in arch dams subjected to various methods of cooling

1980
1. Observations made by the KIA during the construction period ensured control over the observance of the temperature regime of the concrete placed in the blocks of dams and confirmed the correspondence between actual measured technological stresses and design suppositions. 2. Analysis of observational data on the deformations of the concrete placed in the blocks made it possible to conclude the feasibility of constructing arch dams with the parameters under consideration without use of tube cooling of the concrete in a hot climate where the above-cited requirements are met.
