This project is focused on the design of a wind turbine for the Rubiales oil extraction zone in Puerto Gaitan, Meta, which is associated in the analysis of the availability of wind potential in the area; Following this, the power requirement that the extraction systems require by means of PCP pumps (Progressive Cavity Pumps) was compiled. Subsequently, the climatic variables of the area that could be related to the operation of the wind turbine were determined. Next, the detailed design of the machine was carried out, making the calculations of the elements designed with their respective mechanical resistance, for the elements that were selected were validated with previous calculations. The detailed design of the systems defined for the wind turbine was carried out, starting with the power input (blades) until culminating with the functional design of the electric generator and the electrogen transfer, after this the structural design was made to keep the wind turbine in the desired position to ensure optimal wind conditions for operation. Subsequently, the assembly, operation and maintenance manuals were developed taking into account the environmental impact produced by the implementation of the wind turbine in the area.
