Comparison & Analysis Between Chinese Vocative and English Vocative

Little attention has been given to vocatives by linguists,however,the use of vocatives is inevitable in discourse translation.The comparision and analysis of this linguistic phenomenon in English and Chinese can give us a deep insight into the unique characteristics of vocative.The comparision has shown that in English and Chinese discourses,the use of Chinese vocatives are much less than English vocatives which are usually placed at the front of the sentences while English vocatives are used at the back or in the middle of the sentences.
