Process for manufacturing a flexible intraocular retinal implant has electrodes diamond dope

2010
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an intraocular retinal implant comprising a flexible sheet of insulating material, one face of which is provided with a plurality of doped diamond electrodes connected to interconnect lines. It comprises providing a suitable mold to support the growth of a layer of doped diamond, this mold having, on one of its faces, a set of elements, which are recessed or all protruding from on the surface of said face, and which form an impression of the electrodes of the implant that is desired; carrying electrodes doped diamond by growth of a doped diamond layer in all or part of the space occupied by the print elements; forming a first insulating layer on the side of the mold comprising the imprint; achieving the interconnection lines by depositing an electrically conductive material at least in the non covered by the first insulating layer spaces; forming a second insulating layer on the side of the mold including the cavity, said second layer covering the interconnection lines, the first and second insulating layers forming the flexible plate of the implant; removal from the mold.
