Analysis of the Basic Method of Collecting the Spatial Data of Tourist Flows:A Study Review and Comparison both at Home and Abroad

How to obtain the efficient and accurate data of tourist flows is one of the key problems to determine the scientification of the study of tourist flows.The paper,through the review and summary of the collecting method of spatial data of tourist flows from the relevant studies both at home and abroad,classifies them into five categories:observation,time-space budget of tourists,modern tracking technology,second-hand paned data and other methods,and then compares and comments on the cost,efficiency,operability,expansion and accuracy.After comparing the gap and difference of relevant studies both at home and abroad,the paper points out that domestic studies on tourist flows are beset with some problems,such as unitary way of collecting data,insufficient application of modern technology and less attention paid on the collection.We have not completely followed international practice on this study.The paper aims to arouse our tourism management departments and scholars to attach great importance to the collection of the data of tourist flows,improve the scientification of studies and offer guidance to the development practice with the collection of accurate and suitable data.
