Evidence of electron correlations in liquid metals

1978
An idea suggested by Egelstaff, March and McGill (see Can. J. Phys., vol.52, p.1651 (1974)) that electron correlation functions for liquid metals could be extracted by containing X-ray neutron and electron scattering data is extended. Direct evidence is presented for liquid sodium and aluminium, using data already in the literature, showing a 'medium range' ordering of electrons.
