The utilization of hip arthroscopy as a treatment option for nonarthritic hip disorders, particularly femoroacetabular impingement, has grown exponentially over the past decade. Many clinical studies have confirmed that arthroscopic treatment of femoroacetabular impingement results in great improvement in hip functional outcomes. However, as Frank et al. state in their article, there are no data currently available that compare outcomes on the basis of age and sex alone. For this reason, this study was designed as a Level-II prospective cohort study to divide a total of 150 patients with femoroacetabular impingement into 6 groups: female patients younger than 30 years of age, female patients 30 to 45 years of age, female patients older than 45 years of age, male patients younger than 30 years of age, male patients 30 to 45 years of age, and male patients older than 45 years of age.
