Nato-advanced research worshop Envir.ARW.971752 on Permafrost Response on Economic Development, Environmental Security and Natural Resources Novosibirsk, Siberia/Russia, November 12–16 November 1998

The sequence of published papers in this NATO-ARW ENVIR.ARW.971752 publication volume, is greatly similar to that of the lectures. However, as stated in the preface, some lecturers, never send in their written contribution after the meeting. A few others who could not attend the meeting although previously scheduled, did send their written contribution instead for insertion in this volume. To comply with these changes, all communications presented at the session in Novosibirsk and what has been sent in as a copy ready text afterwards for publication are taken up in the conclusions and recommendations outlined hereunder. Some titles may then have been adapted or completely changed. Taking these shifts into account, the published and the original number of contributions show a positive balance. Hereafter, each Session is reported in the same line of order as the number of topics that have been presented at the meeting in Novosibirsk. The relevant panel discussions, conclusions and recommendations follow in addition to it. The name of each responsible convener (or conveners) is also mentioned.
