Process for preparing isomerically pure prodrugs of proton pump inhibitors

Methods for synthesizing isomerically pure prodrugs of proton pump inhibitors. In a preferred embodiment, a method is disclosed for synthesizing the isomers of prodrugs omeprazole and pantoprazole.
