A review on oil extraction and biofuels production from various materials

Abstract Biofuels are receiving tremendous attention worldwide as renewable and alternative source of energy production. Biofuels can be produced with the help of various materials through different extraction methods and conversion processes. However technical problems faced in the large scale production of biodiesel results in making the whole process uneconomical for commercialization. Thus, it becomes essential to develop efficient and cost-effective technologies for harvesting, oil extraction and biodiesel production. This review presents an overview on harvesting, oil extraction and biodiesel production technologies for various materials.
