Polymerization and copolymerization of allyl chloride and allyl N-phenylurethane☆

1976
Abstract A study was made of homopolymerization and copolymerization of allyl chloride (AC) and allyl N-phenylurethane (APU). Reaction orders were determined for monomers and an initiator in homopolymerization and copolymerization constants established: r AC = 0·25 and r APU = 1·9. The dependence of rates of copolymerization on the composition of initial mixtures was examined. Results confirm that polar properties of substituents have a considerable effect on the reactivity of allyl compounds.
