Research status of laser surface melting technology and its numerical simulation

The strengthening mechanism of Laser Surface Melting(LSM) and the effects of parameters are reviewed.Combined with practice,the technical bottleneck and the numerical simulation of LSM are also anlyzed.The development of efficient coatings used for absorbing laser,and the application of numerical simulation method in studying the mechanism of LSM,are considered to be the main directions in the field.In addition,a variety of surface hardening treatment methods can be adopted to maximize the potential of material hardening,including surface chemical treatment,such as surface nitriding treatment,can be used after LSM.
