Olhares das crianças para o cotidiano escolar
2021
In this article, I submit some thoughts on the making of photographical images by children in two schools, one in Brazil and the other in Portugal. The photo making originally meant to present the research field on the thesis, i. e., the school, in which the kids themselves were supposed to take the pictures. Throughout the investigation, inspired by the studies on childhood sociology and daily life, I could notice a shift on what was previously a flexible route. Through the work with students, they presented the school through their own scopes, unofficial scopes, which point out the perspective of participants who actually live in that space as a practical one. That is different from a point of view that would only show the official scope. Hence, the goal changed towards the comprehension that there were other ways of understanding schools on children’s minds. In this text, I submit a part of the investigation that took place in Brazil in order to narrate the process of raising a research methodology that we can share with the kids. I also put up some reflections on how the students may appropriate and represent the space of their schools, particularly the strategies they apply in the process of producing the photographs.
