Sensing infrared vision discloses a method and apparatus for the narrow gap welding deviation present invention, the device comprises a shaking (or rotation) of the arc narrow gap welding torch, the arc current sensor, a computer image processing system, an infrared imaging system; other than infrared camera trigger acquisition mode arc shaking (or rotation) of the groove to the left side wall or a right side wall weld area when the infrared image at the latest, after the computer image processing, and real-time extraction wire groove edge position information, with respect to the wire groove in accordance with right and left side walls change position, the differential output is obtained weld; pulse arc welding, the arc current detected by the current sensor pulse base period signal, can be achieved with pulse arc welding of base current synchronized image acquisition. The system of the present invention is a simple structure, wide application scope and high weld deviation detection accuracy, good environmental adaptability, anti-interference ability for the groove width variation shaking (or swing) and rotational arc narrow gap welding applications.
