The Value of Thinprep Cytologic Test and High-risk HPV DNA Testing for Screening of Cervical Lesions

2011
Objective To explore the value of thinprep cytologic test(TCT)and high-risk human papillomavirus DNA(HR-HPV DNA)detection in cervical disease screening. Methods 2876 cases of out-patients of cervical lesion patients from the gynecology department of the affiliated hospital of Yan′an University were given cervicitis TCT inspection, and patients with abnormal test results were further given HR-HPV DNA testing and pathological biopsy. Results 183 cases showed abnormal TCT results, including ASC-US 104 cases(56.83%),LSIL 48 cases(26.23%),HSIL 21 cases(11.48%),SCC 10 cases(5.46%).In 123 patients who were given HR-HPV DNA test, there were 87 cases(53.05%)showing HR-HPV DNA positive:ASC-US 29 cases(27.88%),LSIL 32 cases(66.67%),HSIL 17 cases(80.95%),SCC 9 cases(90.00%).Conclusion TCT is an accurate and convenient cellular method for cervical lesion screening, the combination with HR-HPV DNA test is an advanced approach to screen the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer.
