Chronic cervicitis is a significant share in the structure of the inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs and plays an important role in the formation of dysplasia and cervical cancer. Increase in the incidence of cervical cancer in young women infected with high risk HPV types, and the lack of effective etiotropic agents for the treatment of this infection are responsible for the importance of determining the oncogenic potential of the virus to select a conservative or operative treatment strategies. In order to assess the risk of cancerous transformation of the epithelium of the cervix used the definition of the expression of the protein r16ink4α in 771 women with chronic cervicitis, of which 547 patients – with the presence of HPV infection and 224 – with the absence of HPV. The results showed that HPV-associated chronic cervicitis is often accompanied by atypical colposcopic changes and to assess the true risk of carcinogenesis should be used oncoprotein r16ink4α detection of which requires a radical approach to the treatment with the Electroexcision cervix.
