The performance evaluation of a new catalyst for the first stage hydrogenation of pyrolysis gasoline

2004
Properties of a newly developed catalyst for the first stage hydrogenation of pyrolysis gasoline (PG) were investigated. The influences of reaction conditions, including inlet temperature, pressure, H_2/oil ratio, LHSV and water and gum content in the feed, on diene hydrogenation rate and selectivity were investigated. The experimental results indicated that both activity and selectivity of the catalyst were comparable to most commercial catalysts for the first stage hydrogenation of PG. The catalyst also showed good gum-tolerant property.
