Effects of acute virus infection on expression of gp130 mRNA and protein in mouse myocytes
2009
Objective:To study the role of glycoprotein (gp)130 in myocarditis. Methods:Thirty-two BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 2 groups,i.e. Coxsakievirus B3(CVB3)infection group and control group. The myocardial injury of the heart biopsy samples and serum IL-6 levels were examined. The expression of gp130 mRNA and protein were observed by RT-PCR and western blot, respectively. Results: Compared with those of controls, the rate of incidence and the extent of myocardium injury and serum IL-6 level of infected mice were significantly increased(P0.001),and the expression of gp130 mRNA were also increased(P0.01),but the expression of gp130 protein were not changed significantly(P0.05). Conclusion:CVB3 infection would increase the expression of gp130 gene in mice myocardium and the mechanism of such up-regulation needs further exploration.
