Las enfermedades del almendro en Andalucía

espanolEn los ultimos anos se esta experimentando un gran incremento del consumo de frutos secos en general y de almendra en particular, lo que ha elevado considerablemente su precio y, por tanto, la rentabilidad de estos cultivos. Esto esta propiciando la expansion del cultivo del almendro en Espana a zonas no tradicionales, con adecuadas condiciones para su cultivo y en regimen de riego, aunque tambien con ambientes mas favorables para la incidencia de enfermedades. Una de las principales limitaciones que estan presentando estas nuevas plantaciones es la perdida de cosecha por un inadecuado control fitosanitario. En este sentido, cabe destacar el desconocimiento que existe en Espana sobre las enfermedades que afectan al cultivo del almendro y su control, asi como el grado de susceptibilidad de las diferentes variedades. En este trabajo se resumen las conclusiones de las observaciones realizadas sobre incidencia de enfermedades del almendro en campos comerciales y en la red de campos de ensayo de variedades del IFAPA, que esta establecida desde el ano 2000 en seis localidades de Andalucia y que incluye 40 variedades de almendro. Asimismo, se ha incluido en este trabajo una breve revision de algunas enfermedades del almendro que, sin estar presentes en Andalucia, son potencialmente importantes para esta region. EnglishIn recent years, the consumption of nuts in general and particularly of almond fruit has greatly increased, which has considerably raised their prices and therefore the profitability of these crops. This is favoring the expansion of almond tree crop in Spain to non–traditional areas with suitable conditions for growing under irrigation, but also more favorable conditions for diseases. One of the main limitations of these new plantations is the yield loss due to an inadequate phytosanitary management. In this regard it is noteworthy the lack of knowledge in Spain on diseases affecting the almond crops and their control, as well as the degree of susceptibility of different cultivars. This paper summarizes the findings of the observations made on the incidence of almond diseases in commercial fields and in the network of field trials of 40 almond cultivars that the IFAPA has established since 2000 in six different locations in Andalusia. Also we have included in this paper a brief review of some almond diseases, which although not present in Andalusia, are potentially important for this region.
