Performance studies of the TETRA mobile radio system

1996
A basic introduction to the TETRA voice plus data mobile radio system is presented and call set up procedures examined. Results of a computer simulation indicate that call set up procedures without a presence check on the called party are significantly faster than call set ups in which the presence of the called party is checked before establishing the call. Some preliminary results of a parameter study to show the affect of slotted ALOHA parameters on access performance are also presented.
