Avaliação de Milhos Crioulos na Região Sudoeste Paulista

2020
Creole populations are important materials due to the high potential for adaptation to specific environmental conditions. The objective was to evaluate the agronomic performance of Creole maize varieties cultivated by farmers in the municipality of Capao Bonito - SP, as well as varieties and intervarietal hybrids of the Agronomic Institute, SP. Seven corn genotypes were evaluated, of which three are Creoles and 4 are commercial cultivars. Analysis of variance and tukey test at 5 percent probability were performed. The evaluated characters were: plant and ear height, ear weight with straw, grain yield, number of ears and hectoliter weight. Palha Roxa A Creole corn showed good grain yield. There was no significant difference in the height of the corn plant, and all genotypes evaluated showed high height, however the Creole corn showed higher ear height, which can make harvesting difficult. It is recommended to carry out new evaluations, with differentiated spacing.
