Diseases of the ureters.

Diversion of the urinary stream to an isolated loop of ileum is considered superior to other methods of urinary diversion except for short-term palliation in advanced cancer of the bladder, for which uretero-sigmoidostomy is preferred. A series of 272 ileal loop diversions is described.Ectopic ureter, ureteral carcinoma, injuries and calculi are also discussed.
