Molecular Genetics in Indolent Lymphomas

2021
The genetic portrait of indolent lymphomas has evolved considerably as the implementation of new technologies has shaped our ability to document the genetic features of these tumors, revealing what defines them collectively and discriminates them one from another. In the first part of this chapter, we describe how genetics has shaped our understanding of the complex molecular biology of indolent lymphomas, exemplified by its prototypic entity, follicular lymphoma (FL). In the second part, we provide a clinical perspective on how genetics is increasingly utilized to improve diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in patients with various indolent lymphomas.
