Vision system for a utility vehicle for the representation of legally prescribed fields of view of a main mirror and a wide-angle mirror

2012
A vision system (10) for a vehicle (1) for the preparation of legally prescribed fields of view (51, 52, 61, 62) of a main mirror and a wide-angle mirror the same side of the vehicle in a driver's cab of the commercial vehicle (1) includes a display unit (20) in the cab, a detection unit (40, 41, 42, 43) and a calculation unit (30) that processes from the detection unit (40, 41, 42, 43) and captured images for display on the display unit (20) supplies. The detection unit (40, 41, 42, 43) is adapted least a first image that includes the field of view of the main mirror, and a second image that includes at least the portion of the field of view of the wide angle mirror, which is not part of the field of view of the main mirror, capture. At least the second picture in a wide direction than corresponds to a wide angle of view is greater than the natural impression of the human eye, and distorts it. The first image is undistorted in the wide angle direction of the second image substantially. The calculation unit (30) is adapted to assemble the first image and the second image in such a manner to form a common image (21) seamlessly and directly adjacent to each other, that the first image and the second image have a common perspective and at least the second image at least in a modification area (24) is modified in the wide-angle direction, that the stretching is reduced images in the wide-angle direction, and wherein the representations of the first image and the second image in the longitudinal direction of the utility vehicle, are aligned perpendicular to the wide angle direction.
