Épulis Géante : À Propos d’Un Cas

RESUME L’epulis est souvent secondaire a un facteur irritatif local et peut etre observee a tout âge. L’objectif de cette etude est de presenter une observation relative a une epulis de taille inhabituelle et notre approche therapeutique. Nous reportons une epulis geante de 6,5x4,5x3,5 cm observee chez un patient de 60 ans. La tumeur siegeait sur l’hemi-arcade droite avec un debordement au niveau du plancher buccal, faisant craindre un risque d’obstruction oro-pharyngee a moyen terme par glossoptose. Elle etait ferme, sessile, de couleur grisâtre. L’exerese etait effectuee sous anesthesie generale. L’analyse histopathologique de la piece operatoire avait confirme le diagnostic d’epulis fibreuse sans aucun signe de transformation maligne. L’epulis est une tumeur benigne courante en pratique quotidienne. Elle impose une bonne maitrise des mesures de prevention de l’hygiene bucco-dentaire. ABSTRACT Epulis is often secondary to a local irritant factor and can be observed at any age. Our objective is a report of epulis case of unusual size and our therapeutic approach. We reported a case of giant epulis 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm, observed in a 60-year-old patient. The tumor was located on the right hemi-arch with an overflow at the level of the oral floor, raising fear of a risk of oropharyngeal obstruction in the medium term by glossoptosis. It was firm, sessile, grayish in color. The excision was performed under general anesthesia. Histopathological analysis of the surgical material confirmed the diagnosis of fibrous epulis without any sign of malignant transformation. Epulis is a common benign tumor in daily practice. It requires a good mastery of oral hygiene.
