Finite Distribution of Nuclear M1 and E2 Moments in Muonic 115In, 133Cs, and 141Pr

1970
The distribution of nuclear M1 and E2 moments in the nuclei 1151n, 1 33Cs, and 141Pr have been investigated by observing the hfs of their muonic X-rays spectra. As pointed out by Johnson and Sorenson (1), the nuclear magnetism arising from the orbital motions is concentrated closer to the center of the nucleus, while the spin magnetism is more highly localized at the positions of the individual nucleons and tends to be more uniform. Our results are listed in Table I. The reductions of the values of Al(Is1/2) from their point-dipole values for all three nuclei studied are apparent.
