Electromagnetic Scattering From Two Crossed Ferromagnetic Microwires

2020
This paper discusses the investigation of electromagnetic scattering from two crossed ferromagnetic microwires with axial magnetization. The purpose of analysis is to show the similarity in the scattering behavior of crossed ferromagnetic microwires irrespective of the polarization. In this paper, solution of the scattering problem is obtained through the calculation of the expansion coefficients of the scattered field at the surface of microwires by matching the tangential boundary conditions. The analysis available in the literature shows that ferromagnetic resonance occurs in axially magnetized ferrite materials and they offer negative permeability only for a \( TM_{z} \) polarized wave. The results presented in this paper show that ferromagnetic resonance can be produced in crossed ferromagnetic microwires for any arbitrary polarization. Numerical results for the scattered fields are obtained with the help of MATLAB for normally incident \( TM_{z} \), \( TE_{z} \) and arbitrarily polarized uniform plane waves.
