Pieken zonder pieken : Paprikateelt in de 2SaveEnergy kas

2020
In the search for the reduction of energy use to enable Dutch greenhouse horticulture to be producing fossilfree in the future, the 2SaveEnergy greenhouse has already proved helpful. In doing so, it proved possible to achieve a major saving on heat demand compared to commercial greenhouses without having negative effects on production. In order to further reduce the heat demand, the insulation of the greenhouse has been increased with a double aluminized screen. The application of a heat pump to dehumidify the greenhouse air has also reduced the latent heat loss. The greenhouse climate is controlled in an energy-efficient way and is based on the ratio between light and the average 24-hours temperature. An important part of this project is to maximize the daily energy use to prevent peak usage. The measures have reduced heat use. Production is lower than expected, but there is no clear cause and explanation for this. The product quality was not sufficient, but that was also the case for commercial greenhouses with sweet pepper in 2018.
