Disclosed is a shot put trainer which relates to shot put training assistive equipment and aims at problems that when an athlete in training holds a shot by hand, center of gravity of a shot is difficult to manage, and putting angle is not fixed. A front fixed plate is fixedly connected with a bottom plate, a sliding plate is in sliding engagement with the bottom plate, and fixed bodies fixedly mounted on the front fixed plate and the sliding plate are connected via a stretchable elastic body; a fixed sleeve on the sliding plate is connected with support columns, and sliding sleeves are sleeved on the support columns; a steel rib penetrates through a steel rib passing hole of the shot, two ends of the steel rib is fixedly connected with the two sliding sleeves, and the rear end of the steel rib is inclined downwards; a driven shaft is in rotating connection with a support, a traction belt pulley is fixedly mounted on the driven shaft, one end of a traction belt is fixedly connected with the sliding plate, while the other end is wound on the traction belt pulley, and a driving motor is connected with the driven shaft via a transmission mechanism; and a first contact switch is fixedly mounted on the front fixed plate and the sliding plate, a second contact switch is fixedly mounted on a rear fixed plate and the sliding plate, and a control switch is fixedly installed on the sliding plate. The shot put trainer has the advantages of fixed putting angle, and fine joint of final force and sliding steps.
