Back angle elastic scattering of 12C + 12C at E/A ≥ 10MeV

Abstract The angular distribution of 12 C + 12 C elastic scattering have been measured up to Θ cm = 90° at 139.5 and 158.8 MeV. Structureless, gross bumps which are reminiscent of nuclear rainbow scattering, and a constant cross section region at far back angles were observed. These backward-angle data are shown to be sensitive to the interior part of the nucleus-nucleus interaction, specially of the real term.
