Coated fabrics and methods for making the same

2003
describes a process for producing coated textiles with coating compositions based on cellulose derivatives. This method is characterized in that to be applied homogeneously low-substituted cellulose derivatives of a degree of substitution of about 0.1 to 0.9 in solution onto the textiles and the solvent which dissolves the fabrics at best, is evaporated to form the coating. The homogeneity of the low-substituted cellulose derivatives in terms of crystallinity, preferably between about 0 and 20. As the cellulose derivative are used in particular Celluloseester. It is possible to design the coating porous or microporous. The coatings can be colored with dyes cellulose also beneficial. This process requires no complicated activation dissolution process. It's Simple to use and the coatings exhibit good adhesion to the textile base material. The coating materials are inexpensive. The coated fabrics offer a wide range of applications. These are also the subject of the invention.
