PURPOSE: A method for controlling reducing printing in a host apparatus and the host apparatus therefor are provided to obtain prints close to the original by maximally avoiding distortion of prints. CONSTITUTION: A reduction mode of a print object document is inputted(S800). Reduction magnification fine adjustment is inputted about the reduction mode(S820). According to the reduction magnification fine adjustment, new reduction magnification is applied to the print object document(S840). According to the applied reduction magnification, print data are generated(S860).
