Research progress of heat shock protein 90 in multiple myeloma

2017
Heat shock protein (HSP)90 is a class of ATP dependent molecular chaperones. HSP90 can activate and stabilize a variety of client proteins, many of which involved in important cellular pathways. HSP90 affects many physiological processes, such as signal transduction, intracellular trafficking and protein degradation, and has become a new target for tumor therapy. HSP90 was found over expression in multiple myeloma (MM). Inhibition of HSP90 can induce MM cell apoptosis and inhibit the proliferation and survival of the important pathway, and HSP90 play an important role in the mechanism of resistance to MM, which makes HSP90 inhibitor become the new drug treatment of MM. Key words: HSP90 heat-shock proteins; Multiple myeloma; Drug resistance, neoplasm
