Compounds within formula (II) and their salts wherein X is alkylene of 2-4 carbon atoms; R1 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms or benzyl, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-, 6- or 7-membered saturated ring; R3 is aryl; R4 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; and R5 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; have been found to possess mood-modifying and anorexia inducing activity.
