Specific Anisotropy Properties of Fractured Reservoirs: Research on Thomsen’s Anisotropy Parameter Delta
2021
Summary Within the framework of the Linear Slip model, we obtain a new formula for δ (as a function of e and γ), analyzing which we discover some new features of fractured reservoirs anisotropy properties. First, in the dry cracks model, the Thomsen parameter γ turns out to be much less than e, i.e. γ e, is due to the fact that in fractured reservoirs the value of γ can become significantly less than e: namely, γ 4/3e is satisfied. Thus, we have discovered a number of specific anisotropy properties of fractured reservoirs, which is confirmed in practice, according to published physical modeling data.
