Roça sem queima: prática de base agroecológica no IFPA-Campus Castanhal Slash and burning : practice of base agroecological in the IFPA-Campus Castanhal

The Office of Research and Experimentation Agroecology (UPEA) "Roca No Burn" is located at the Federal Institute of Para Campus Castanhal. The area is 40 mx 60 m which was divided into four equal installments of 20 mx 30 m with their arrangements: plot I Zea mays L., plot II Cajanus cajan L. Huth, plot III Crotalaria juncea L and plot IV Vigna unguiculata L. Walp., in order to improve the physical, chemical and biological soil. Its implementation was aimed at the strengthening of agro-ecological practices and creating a training space as a reference for students of IFPA-Campus Castanhal courses. Work is in progress and it is expected that the UPEA is a demonstration space, research and agroecological practice and further opportunity for the students to reflect on the most sustainable practices of soil management and food production.
