Resection of intracranial lesions with CT-combined stereotactic frame

2000
Objectives: To study the result of resection of intracranial lesions with CT combined stereotactic frame. Methods: Intracranial lesions with diametres between 1.5 and 3.5cm were confirmed and localized in 22 patients by CT combined stereotactic frame. Standard microsurgical technique is utilized to resect the lesions. Results: In 22 patients, 2 brain metastasis of lung cancer were macroscopic totally restected, 3 gliomas were partially resected and other 17 lesions were totally resected. No complications were found after surgery and 13 of 16 secondary epilepsy were seizure free. Conclusions: Resection of small intracranial lesions with CT combined stereotactic frame has the benefits of proper localization, little damnification and is worthy of advocating.
