The high level of competition in passenger air transport as a result of the globalization of the world economy, as well as the growth of demand have led to the emergence of new business models. One of the most flexible of them is implemented by budget airlines or low-cost carriers. The article examines the best budget airlines in the world and Europe, analyzes the economic activity of Ukrainian airlines. The influence of international low-cost airlines on the air market of Ukraine is analyzed and the ways of attracting low-cost carriers to the Ukrainian market are suggested.
