The invention relates to a preparation method for a lithium ion battery anode material by using carbon nanotube fiber to modify artificial graphite, and belongs to the technical field of lithium ion battery electrode materials, and the carbon nanotube fiber is uniformly dispersed among artificial graphite spheres. The preparation method comprises: uniformly dispersing carbon nanotube fiber in a water solution or an organic solvent, dispersing graphite spheres in an organic solvent, then uniformly mixing the two dispersing solutions, and performing filtering and drying to obtain the carbon nanotube fiber modified artificial graphite anode material. By using the disclosed electrode material, a prepared lithium ion battery has the initial charge capacity of 420.9 mAh/g, and has the capacity retention rate of 85% after being cycled for 100 times.
