The formation of CS 2 inclusion crystals through vapor adsorption was characterized to show that large CS 2 guests are tightly confined in the channel supported on the π orbital of the conjugate planes of the channel surface: the manner of guest alignment is strongly influenced by the structures of the guest and channel.
