Research on the acid hydrolysis of biomass

The transformation process of alcohol production with biomass consists of the hydrolysis of the cellulose in lignocellulosic biomass into reducing sugar and the fermentation of reducing sugar into alcohol.In this paper,the influence of temperature,sulfuric acid mass fraction and residence time on the dilute acid hydrolysis process was investigated.The results show that the influence of the factors on hydrolysis is in the sequence as follows:the temperature,the residence time,and the mass fraction of sulfuric acid.The increase of temperature could reduce the residence time effectively and resulted in higher sugar yield.With the temperature of 200℃,the sulfuric acid mass fraction of 1%,the residence time of 6 min and the liquid to solid ratio of 10 L·kg-1,appropriate hydrolysis effect was obtained.
