The Art of the Megadeal

The article looks at corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as of 2013. The authors discuss their retrospective look at over 200 large corporate mergers during the 2000s, in which they analyze factors accounting for each merger's positive or negative outcome. They cite five criteria which they suggest managers should consider in evaluating potential M&As, including business cycle timing, effects on credit ratings, and earnings per share (EPS) forecasts.
