Inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver: CT and sonographic findings.
1996
tration of chronic inflammatory cells [I]. Microscopic findings show fibrous stroma and chronic inflammatory cell infiltrates with a predominance of plasma cells, histiocytes, lymphocytes, and some eosinophils. A whorled pattern of fibrosis is often characteristic. Because the mass can regress spontaneously or be managed conservatively, awareness of this condition and recognition of its radiologic manifestation may guide a clinician to perform a liver biopsy instead of surgery [2, 3]. The purpose of this report is to describe the CT and sonographic findings of inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver in two cases.
