EXPLOSIVE-INDUCED DAMAGE IN POROUS SANDSTONE
1980
We have conducted a combined laboratory and computational effort to study the effect of overburden pressures on explosively damaged porous sandstone. We found that it was difficult to establish a dependence on confining pressure. The predominant effect of the explosion was compaction around the cavity, and macroscopic fractures were conspicuously absent.
