This Public Expenditures Management and Financial Accountability Report of the Democratic Republic of Congo specifies that the economic policy followed during the past five years has enabled the Democratic Republic of Congo to reconnect with macroeconomic stability and growth. It added that the country should now focus on public sector performance and strengthening the rule to drive the economy and society to emerge. The state first needs more resources in order to carry out its sovereign functions and its mission of economic and social development. The effectiveness of the State in the conduct of its mission is inseparable from efficiency of public enterprises which is supposed to provide services to the economy and society. The effectiveness of the state also depends on the budgetary process and execution of some markets. The effectiveness of the state finally depends on the actions implemented to stimulate the performance of a segment and ability to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. The report will improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and adequacy of public expenditure and is crucial for long-term development and national cohesion of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
