Photopolymerization of acrylates in the presence of phenolic derivatives: Role of the photoinitiating system

2004
The effects of wood phenolic compounds on the photopolymerization of an acrylate resin were evaluated under model conditions, in the presence of different photoinitiating systems, based on a bisacylphosphineoxide derivative, an amine, and isopropylthioxanthone. The steady-state photolysis of these systems and their excited-state processes were also characterized. The kinetic scheme, derived from these experiments, promoted discussion of the performances attained in photopolymerization experiments. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
