Production of ammoxidation catalyst

1995
PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst for the ammoxidation of alkanes by dissolving a V compound, an Sb compound and an Sn compound in a saturated alcohol, bringing the resulting alcoholic solution into contact with an ammonium salt- containing aqueous solution, precipitating mixed oxides, separating and calcining the precipitate. CONSTITUTION: A V compound such as vanadyl trichloride, an Sb compound such as antimony trichloride and an Sn compound such as stannous chloride are dissolved in at least one saturated alcohol such as a cycloalkanol, the resulting alcoholic solution is brought into contact with an ammonium salt- containing aqueous solution and mixed oxides are precipitated and calcined to produce the objective catalyst. The mixed oxides containing V, Sb and Sn correspond to the formula VSba Snb Ox [where (a) is an integer or fraction of >=0.1, (b) is an integer or fraction of >=0.5 and (x) is an integer or fraction determined by the oxidized state of the other elements except O] and exhibits an X-ray diffraction pattern characteristic of a crystallographic phase of rutile type SnO2 .
