Using model transformation for the analysis of the architecture of a reconfigurable system

This paper presents how model driven engineering (MDE) is a great improvement for the analysis of reconfigurable manufacturing systems. A model for the architecture of a reconfigurable system is first defined. This model is then given a representation using UML diagrams. The architecture model is finally used for analysis. An example is presented where an architecture is transformed into an analysis model for tolerance evaluation, this evaluation is illustrated on two example architectures.
