A dynamically temperature tunable broadband infrared absorber with cross square nanocolumn arrays

2020
Abstract A dynamically tunable broadband infrared absorber is designed by integrating VO2/SiO2/VO2 nanocolumn array on Al2O3 substrate with W/VO2/W nanocolumn array on W substrate. The absorption rates under different structural parameters and temperatures are simulated by using finite-difference time-domain method. The absorption rate can be dynamically adjusted through thermally induced VO2 phase transition. The absorber is polarization independent under perpendicular incidence and possesses wide incidence angle absorption characteristics. It has good application prospects in the fields of thermal photoelectric devices.
